Explorers!

This term we are going to be delving into the wonderful world of explorers, and exploration throughout time. We started the topic by becoming Doctor Who's companions and ended up back in the dinosaur era! We've excavated dinosaur fossils, created our own dinosaur Top Trump cards and are now engrossed with the science of evolution and adaptation.
The only question is - what era will we end up in next?

Halloween Disco

Friday was our chance to get dressed up and dance at the Halloween Disco!
There was lots of sweets for us to eat, and brilliant music to dance too. They even got the chance to mummify teachers with toilet roll (myself included) which I feel they enjoyed far too much!
Here are some photos from the night:

You all looked amazing (and some of you really like something from my nightmares!)

Our Excellent Homework

We've had some absolutely excellent homework projects handed in from journals, to labyrinths, to models and fact files.
Everyone should be proud of the effort they've put in and how they confidently presented it to the class. Here are some photos of our wonderful homework.

I can't wait to see what you achieve for the next project!

Greek Tasting

To finish off our Gifted Greek topic we got to sample some of their delicacies. These included dried figs, black and green olives, feta cheese and bread as well as olive oil. Some of the food we were more fond of than others!

Nĭ Hăo

Today we had a Mandarin lesson with Lulu. She taught us to say "Hello", ask "How are you?" and reply with "I'm fine". We even learnt a song to help us remember!

I can't wait for our second lesson next week!

Marvellous Masks!

This week we have been looking at Greek theatre and have studied what went on in the ancient amphitheatres. The actors (who were only men) wore masks to help them portray their characters.

We have designed and made our own masks, either for a comedy or tragedy, and some are even based on our own mythical creatures that we have invented for our myth that we're writing in our literacy lessons.

Aren't they great! What do you think?

Meet The Gifted Greeks

Our exciting topic this half term is all about the Ancient Greeks!

We started off with an excellent murder mystery trying to figure out who had killed our poor Olympic champion, Agathon. We had many pieces of evidence that we had to analyse and piece together to work out who was the murderer.

Here are our suspects!

Unfortunately, none of us guessed correctly and had been lead up the garden path with our evidence, but our theories were plausible and we had lots of fun (and suspense) finding out the murderer.
